When I started my online coaching journey with Alana I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to stick to something new. I have been on every fad diet out there. I was also concerned that I wouldn’t be allowed to enjoy meals out, brunches, nights out, etc. I overcame this by becoming educated and finding a healthy balance. Alana changed my mindset for the better. I went from constantly taking things out of my diet to instead, focusing on adding things into my diet such as protein and fibre, etc. There are a lot of things I have benefited from with Alana’s coaching. Alana has a very realistic approach to coaching, knowing that life commitments can sometimes get in the way, and being able to factor these things in takes the stress away instead of feeling bad about it. I am able to balance my week much better now that I know having a ‘bad day doesn’t actually ruin my progress. With the app being so accessible it helps keep me accountable by checking off my daily habits (eg. step goal, protein hit) on the app’s calendar. It annoys me when I haven’t ticked them off! The weekly check-in with Alana keeps me accountable and receiving feedback gives me something to work towards for the following week. My main goals when I began my online coaching journey with Alana were to lose body fat and get stronger and I can definitely say that I have achieved both by being consistent for over a year now. I’ve lost 14.9kg, and I’m lifting heavier weights in the gym. I have learned a lot from Alana’s nutritional advice and can easily plan meals with relevant nutrition goals in mind. I also enjoy getting my steps in daily now by listening to podcasts. Just want to say a big THANK YOU really 😊

My aim before beginning my coaching journey with Alana was to lose weight and look better aesthetically. In the beginning, I was a little bit worried about taking progress pictures in case I wouldn’t see any difference – I was also worried that I wouldn’t stick to it and wondered if it would be worthwhile at all.
My progress pictures definitely show me that I have achieved my main goals. As well as that, my overall fitness has improved, including my cardio fitness. I’ve lost body fat all over and have a very aesthetically pleasing weight loss chart!
What helped me stay on track at the beginning was seeing slight differences at the early stages and understanding that you balanced things weekly, that really helped me stick to it.
For example, if I’m off home giving me a diet break and things like that.
I’ve gained a lot from working with Alana. Being held accountable for everything I’m doing weekly really helped with my progress. Including Steps/Exercise/Eating. If I’m slacking or if there is something I should be doing differently you tell me. Being able to tell people the truth when they don’t want to hear it and keeping them happy at the same time isn’t an easy task but you do it very well.
I don’t think you give yourself enough credit for how much you help people. Genuinely seems like you care rather than just giving advice and getting on with it.

As someone who had never followed a training programme before and wouldn’t know where to start, I have greatly benefited (and continue to do so) from the clear way the programme is set out in the app and the simple directions within that. I also feel like I get a lot out of the weekly check-in form and I think, even if you didn’t read them, it would be good for my own headspace and accountability to do that every week.
I think the attention and detail in your responses through the app is good. In the beginning, I definitely had concerns that I wouldn’t be able to stick to my goals, maintain efforts in the programme, change dietary habits, among other things. I wanted to lose weight but also build up my strength. To be fair, I think the way the programmes and nutritional elements are tailored to the individual made me realise quite quickly that incremental improvements could be made. I’m down 12 kilograms in weight from joining Alana back in November. I now enjoy social sports as a result of increased fitness levels and have a newfound appreciation for exercise and body movement that I didn’t have before my coaching journey with Alana. My mental health has benefited as well as my physical health and I am a lot more energised. There has been a fundamental change in my eating habits (ie diet, portion sizes etc) without having to change my lifestyle or feeling like I’m missing out. Honestly, I thought I would give this a go for a month or two but here I am ten months later and keener than ever. Up until November, I was honestly scared walking into the gym – never mind using any of the equipment. Now I am one of the earliest and most frequent users. I know everyone works differently but this is working for me and I look forward to continuing for a while yet.

Alana approaches everything realistically. Making things very easy to follow and make sense of. If you don’t meet a goal one week Alana has a very good way of helping you reach that goal in a more realistic and achievable way the following week without guilt and disappointment.

This past year I have benefitted a lot from Alana’s honesty. Alana is not afraid to tell you how it is if you are slacking but at the same time, she understands life can get in the way of progress at times. Alana’s approach to online coaching is very much sustainable. I’ve been with Alana for over a year now and have been making steady progress, it is now a lifestyle for me. Checking in weekly and getting feedback keeps me accountable and sets me up for the week ahead with new realistic and achievable goals. My goals before starting were to lose weight and to have and be able to maintain a better lifestyle overall. Not feeling shattered all the time and stopping everything from seeming like hard work before I lost some weight, with the help from Alana. I now have a much better understanding of nutrition. I feel much more confident in the gym. A big one for me from the training aspect of her coaching is understanding the importance of form in the gym when exercising and lifting weights. I would highly recommend Alana to anyone who has even thought about starting their online coaching journey, it can be daunting starting something new but with Alana’s guidance and support, you will not be disappointed.

I had tried to get into good eating and exercising routines before and inevitably ended up giving up after a lazy weekend of binging so I was nervous I would fall down the same rabbit hole again. But Alana taught me to better plan for my weekends and also that slip ups are ok and how to get back up, recover from it and just get back on track with my usual routines!
I love the regular check-ins – when they’re coming up they’re a reminder to stay on track and for a few days afterward, they’re a reminder of why the work is put in! This includes the progress pictures too; although not the nicest feeling taking them, looking back at the progress you’ve made is a great motivator. Alana’s knowledge of training and nutrition has benefitted me so much that after only a couple of months, I can easily plan my meals to reach my targets and still include all of the things I love. I can also confidently walk into any gym without my plans with me and know that I can still do a great workout with what I’ve learned. Plus I now understand the importance of NEAT exercise! My 2 main goals were/are to: Look good – lose a bit of weight and tone up! Feel good – be fit enough to do most activities comfortably, get into a good routine of exercising regularly, and eating well for body and mind. And thanks to Alana’s coaching I am accomplishing both of these goals. Some personal achievements after only a few months in with my online coaching with Alana I can confidently say that I can now avoid binge eating by planning my meals in advance, I feel confident in a bikini, I am comfortable in a gym environment, and just being more aware of my body’s basic needs eg. sleep, nutrients, stretching. I feel so at ease and comfortable with Alana as a coach. She is realistic and understanding with goals. I’m able to ask or tell her anything knowing that she genuinely won’t judge me and will always provide me with the best advice for my circumstances.

Working with Alana, my goals were to gain a healthy amount of weight, build muscle, increase my weights and just be healthy in general. I have managed to gain about 6kg, regularly hit PBs in my sessions, nearly beat my brother (2 years my senior) in an arm wrestle, and haven’t had a cold in months.
Alana was there to help me with everything – any question or doubt I had she answered and put me at ease. It’s one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done – in fact, maybe THE most difficult – but I know for a fact I wouldn’t have done it if Alana hadn’t been there. I've seen first hand the amazing things you have done with my friend. Turning someone from thinking peppers and onions as a snack on a Saturday afternoon is a treat to someone who will now have PASTA and love every mouthful.. I mean, my jaw dropped when I heard she had not had her favourite dinner for years out of fear. Since then I've stalked, I mean followed you and I love your no nonsense attitude when it comes to food and training!

Alana is extremely knowledgeable and helpful professional. I've asked her for advice on a few occasions. She's always more than happy to oblige. She has an excellent ability to explain and share seemingly complex fitness and nutritional information in clear, simple terms in an age where there is so much conflicting information out there on social media. I love watching your video clips of workouts that I can try. I would love to learn more about nutrition as I regularly exercise but always seem to stay the same shape�. I really appreciate how you don't try & put out that you need to have the PERFECT body! (Referring to the pic u put up a few months ago of your yoga pants below your belly button) that really stuck out for me.
